St Andrews – THE NEW COURSE – 6604 yards – par 71
The oldest ‘new’ course in the world, the second course at the Home of Golf was designed by the Keeper of the Green, Tom Morris in 1895 and it was imaginatively named to differentiate from its famous neighbour.
Boasting undulating fairways and challenging greens, the New Course is a classic test of Links golf. This is an undulating course similar in characteristics to the Old Course. If not for the proximity of its more illustrious and ancient neighbour, there is no doubt that many Open Championships and other major events would have been fought out over the testing oldest New Course in the world.
