Carnoustie & North East – Monifieth – 6655 yds – Par 71
The date of origin for Monifieth Links is 1845, and Monifieth Medal Course is one of the oldest courses in Scotland.
Monifieth offers the golfer a fantastic day out, only four miles from Carnoustie and half an hour away from St. Andrews. The Traditional Links offers two courses, The Medal and The Ashludie, both of which are consistantly in excellent condition all year round.
The Medal Links was an Open Championship qualifying venue for the 1999 Open Championship; however both courses offer a very unique Links experience, as like some holes on Carnoustie, the courses have tree-lined fairways on some holes.
You will be following in the footsteps of Tom Watson who enjoyed his first experience of a links golf course at Monifieth a week before he won his first Open Championship at Carnoustie.
Monifieth has courses not to be missed when staying in the Carnoustie / St Andrews area.
