Fairhaven Golf Club

Officially recognised as one of the finest Championship courses in the north of England, Fairhaven Golf Club offers golfers of all handicaps a beautiful place to play golf. Home to professional golf since 1934, Fairhaven has all the characteristics of a traditional links course and is immaculately kept from tee to green, allowing year-round golf.

Recognised by the hierarchy of golf as one of the best courses in Northern England, Fairhaven has much to offer visiting golfers, whatever their handicap. Fairhaven is not only a beautiful place to play golf but fully lives up to its designation as a ‘Championship’ course. The course was originally designed by James Braid.

Professional golf at Fairhaven started back in 1934 when the course played host to the ‘Penfold’ Tournament. The Club has since hosted many ‘Open Championship Final Qualifying Competitions’ when the ‘Open Championship’ was played at neighbouring Royal Lytham & St.Annes Golf Club. The Professionals’ course record of 64 was achieved by Justin Leonard in 1996, while he was playing in and leading the final qualifying rounds.
