Carnoustie & North East - Letham Grange - 6968 yds - Par 73

The Old Course (6968 yds) is characterised by open fairways leading to narrow greens hemmed in by trees. Water hazards are also a prominent feature, with the short 8th hole perhaps the most memorable. The shorter Glens Course (5528 yds) is less physically demanding but still a stern test of your abilities, particularly in your driving which must be accurate to find the narrow fairways.

The Old Course has gained a reputation as one of the toughest inland courses in Scotland, and with a par 73, water featuring on most holes, and measuring almost 7,000 yards from the back tees, this reputation is justified. The stand out holes are the 8th and the 10th. The 8th hole is a 160 yard par 3 which is all carry over water which has been compared to the 12th at Augusta. The 10th is a tricky par 4 with an elevated tee and a tough second shot over water to the green.
