Royal Golf Hotel – Dornoch
Situated on the 1st tee at the famous Royal Dornoch Golf Course, many of the 25 en-suite rooms, including the two luxury suites, have panoramic views across the course and the Dornoch coastline beyond
The split-level Conservatory provides all day dining and is the ideal vantage point for watching the proceedings at the club. Whilst miles of sandy beach may invite you to enjoy long undisturbed walks, you may find it difficult to resist the temptation of settling down with your book in front of a real log fire in the Tom Morris bar.
Mahogany chests and cherry wood are featured throughout the hotel and whilst the bedrooms have been designed in a similar fashion, individual touches – the placement of the woollen throws, a decorative mirror or an unusual piece of furniture – ensure that no two rooms are identical
The famous industrialist and philanthropist, Andrew Carnegie moved to the area in the 19th
century and stayed for the rest of his life. He once said: ‘If there is a heaven on earth, it is here’.
