St. Andrews – Fairmont Torrance Course 7230 yards – par 72
The Fairmont Torrance Course, named after the Ryder Cup Captain, Sam Torrance, is a par 72, in excess of 7,200 yards. The course sweeps its way round the hotel and down to the coastal edge. The Course is now firing on all cylinders after a recent multi-million pound refurbishment which involved re-designing several holes while all 63 bunkers were rebuilt with classic Scottish riveted design. In addition a new irrigation system and major drainage works have now made the dramatic cliff-top course, which overlooks the Old Grey Toon of St Andrews, playable in all but the nastiest of weathers. The new-look layout proved a big hit with players in the 2010 Open Championship qualifier and Scottish Senior Open. This course is a tough test for all players.
