The Morangie Hotel
Built in 1903, the Morangie House Hotel is a fine Victorian
mansion set close to the shores of the lovely Dornoch Firth
on the northern outskirts of the Highland town of Tain. Its
design makes for spacious and elegant rooms and the house,
though extensively modernised and tastefully redecorated over
the years, still retains the character of the original building.
A welcoming family-run hotel, there are 26 bedrooms, each
with en-suite bathrooms, at Morangie House. All guestrooms
are individually decorated, furnished to the highest standards
and offer the very best of facilities from trouser press to
satellite television. For the guests who wish to pamper themselves,
the master bedroom offers a large four-poster bed, while the
bathroom boasts a unique whirlpool corner bath.
Complementing the comfort and elegance of the accommodation,
the dining room at Morangie House provides the very best of
Highland food, specialising in salmon, venison and game when
in season, while the well-stocked bar offers a comprehensive
selection of Highland malt whiskies in a traditional atmosphere.
While the hotel is an ideal base for the golfer, the area
is also a real haven for the outdoor enthusiast. Whether fishing,
shooting, hill-walking or exploring the northern Highlands,
Morangie House is the perfect home-from-home.
