Culloden House Hotel
Offering country house living at its finest, Culloden House
is an 18th century Georgian mansion set in forty acres of
private grounds. The history of the house is such that at
the time of the Jacobite rising in 1745-1746, it was requisitioned
by Bonnie Prince Charlie as his lodging and headquarters prior
to that fateful, final battle at Culloden Moor in April 1746.
Today, guests are free to wander the elegant lawns and parkland,
which effuse peace and tranquility.
The public rooms at Culloden House, including a magnificent
drawing room, boast chandeliers, marble fireplaces, ornate
plasterwork and antiques, while its bedrooms are individually
decorated and uphold the character of the house. Each of the
28 guestrooms, ranging from opulent period suites and master
rooms to contemporary standard rooms, is of course en-suite
and is equipped with every modern facility, catering for the
guest’s every whim.
The refined restaurant at the hotel offers an ever-changing
five-course menu, prepared by Master Chef Michael Simpson
using the finest Scottish produce, while to accompany the
fine cuisine, guests may choose from over 120 wines and 30
malt whiskies. Having played some of the world’s finest
golf courses, Inverness is the ideal base from which to explore
the incredible beauty of the Highlands. Among others, the
Moray Firth and Loch Ness wait to be discovered.
